One of the reasons why Auburn is such a great foundation for pre health, especially in the College of Human Sciences, is because we allow you to select a major based on your interests. There is no pre health major. I've always wanted to go into medicine, and specifically pediatrics, which is another reason I chose human development. Family Science as a major because it is built to explore. So there's a lot of different professional electives and paths that you can all take that all fit the criteria you need. So even if you get to your junior year and you're like, you know, I don't know if this med school is for me, you're not starting over.
Coming into college, my goal was to become a physical therapist, and I was looking at different pre Health Options. I looked at the placement rates, and noticed that college human sciences had a 100% placement, and we have that across all of our pre health so it's not just physical therapy, it can be med school, different things like that.
And that's when that really stuck out to me, because I knew that college human sciences was going to get me where I wanted to be in life, get me to my post grad goals. So I knew that I was passionate about the field of health and fitness and nutrition, and I was really interested in learning more about that throughout my college years, but I knew I wanted to get into the healthcare field. I knew this was the right place for me. I'm now doing nutrition science pre dentistry, and that's just been such an awesome experience, getting to learn about what I'm passionate about, which is nutrition, but also be prepared for dental school.
